How To Fight A Dust Allergy :: By Diana
16/03/10
Something strange happened to me recently. I was suffering from a runny nose, watery eyes and was sneezing all the time. That just annoyed me. At first I thought it was the flu and it would go away soon.
But then I noticed some redness on my face. That was the last thing that contributed to my annoyance. It was definitely not a flu! Thousands of thoughts attacked my mind as I panicked.
I couldn’t understand what was going on with me, so I decided to visit my doctor immediately.
When the doctor told me that it was a dust allergy, I was shocked. I never had one before.
The doctor told me that a dust allergy is a quite common thing, especially in the spring. And it does not matter if you have had allergies before or not.
He told me not to worry as it’s easy to get rid of the allergy symptoms. You just need to follow some simple rules.
First of all, try to avoid or at least minimize your contact with dust. You should clean your house regularly, especially the places where you spend a lot of time. Now I clean the dust from my computer table every day, but I used to do it only twice a week before. No wonder that I acquired a dust allergy. I also began to vacuum the house very often, especially my room where I spend many hours.
The doctor also prescribed an antihistamine medicine that should ease my allergy symptoms. And I can say it really worked: I felt relief from watery eyes and itchiness. Also he told me to take a decongestant, another medication that fights allergies quite effectively. It greatly helped me in reducing the nasal congestion.
I finally got rid of those annoying dust allergy symptoms, and now it’s your turn.
