Meditate And Feel Relieved :: By Kristina
09/03/10
Our hectic schedules and daily activities can make us exhausted and stressed. This state can pose our health under great risk.
Sometimes we are so engrossed in our daily activities that we don’t have time to manage our stress. There is a simple way to deal with this problem, namely meditating.
The role of meditation is significant in medicine. It lowers blood pressure, helps people suffering from asthma to breathe easier, treats insomnia, manages stress, tensions, anxiety and depression, treats phobias and obsessive thoughts, increases motivation and improves concentration.
Everyone can perform meditation no matter of what religious or cultural background you have. Meditation enhances your spiritual growth and understanding of people.
Breathing meditation is one of the most common meditation types and has a significant influence on your health. You can meditate any time you want, but the best time to meditate is early in the morning before the daily grind and stress overwhelm you.
You should choose a quiet, relaxing place for meditation. Turn off any appliance that can distract you, like your TV set and phones. You can only play soothing, nerve-relaxing music for meditation.
Sit still on the floor. If it’s uncomfortable for you, sit on a cushion or on a chair with your feet on the ground. Make sure you keep your back straight, since it will prevent you from becoming sleepy and will enhance your blood circulation.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Concentrate on the sensation of your breathing. Feel your stomach rise and fall. Inhale for three seconds and exhale for six seconds. Every single muscle in your body should relax.
Focus merely on your breathing and don’t let your mind be occupied with anything else. Your attention should not be distracted by other thoughts.
Performing breathing meditation daily will allow you to stay healthy as well as happy and live long.
