Let's Put A Smile On That Face
It happens very rarely that one has perfect teeth. Especially if not enough attention is paid to the teenager’s or kids dental health, you can gain crooked and crowded teeth, which can in future be an obstacle for a wide and bright smile.
And though for a teenager wearing braces can turn to a disaster, the defects of teeth alignment should be treated exactly in that age, otherwise you can gain even more problems with your teeth and maybe one day be obliged to visit implants dentists for getting teeth implants. So, judge yourself, if it is worth wearing braces for some time, and then enjoying a wonderful smile for years!
Braces can be made of different materials, mainly of metal, but most people prefer plastic or ceramic braces, because they are less seen. Another kind of really invisible braces are invisaligns. The dentist invisalign is transparent and tightly embraces your teeth from all the sides. They are made individually for your jaw structure and have to be changed every 2-3 weeks. Though they are comfortable, they are not effective for treating serious defects like abnormalities of jaws.
Although wearing braces does not cause any pain (maybe slight discomfort), you have to remember that after fixing them there are some rules you have to follow: in order to avoid pain, keep your teeth healthy and the braces clean. On the first 1-2 days after the adjustment of braces try to restrain yourself from hard food, stick to liquid or soft food. In general, when you have braces try not to eat too hard, sticky or crunchy food like nuts, candies or bagels. Another thing is that you have to rinse your mouth regularly and use waxes for preventing your tongue and lips from irritation because of the braces.
Usually you have to wear braces for 1-2 years (it’s individual, can get more or less). After they are removed, the dentists usually adjust retainers, in order to reach the final effect. The retainers must be taken off at nights and still need a lot of attention and cleaning.
Braces are not the worst thing that can happen to your smile, especially with nowadays technologies, that can make them nearly invisible or even fashionable. So, whoever you are, a teenager or an adult, it’s better to make that sacrifice and wear them. A beautiful smile is worth everything, so work on it, make it better.
