Fasting Days: Useful Tips

Fasting Days: Useful TipsI guess there aren’t many people who haven’t heard about fasting. When you cut down your calorie intake, your metabolism improves, and this has a health-improving effect on your organism. You can also get rid of some extra pounds.

If you want to set a fasting day, but don’t know where to start and what to do exactly, here are some tips you can find quite useful:

  • First of all, choose the right product for your fasting: you’ll have to eat only this product during the whole day. There are many products to choose from, but perhaps the most convenient ones are cottage cheese, meat and sour cream. These products may seem a bit unsuitable for fasting, but the fact is that, for example, meat fasting has the same effects and results as apple or cucumber fasting.
  • Eat only one product during the whole day. But you can’t eat it as much as you want: you can absorb about 800 calories per day.
  • During the fasting day you should drink as much liquid as you can. Water, green tea without sugar and natural juices are perhaps the best choices.
  • Fast no more than twice a week. Fasting shouldn’t last longer than two days, otherwise, you’ll have the opposite effect. Your metabolism will slow down, because if the body doesn’t receive all the necessary nutrients and nutritional vitamins for 48 hours or more, it switches to a economical “behavior” and stops burning fats.
  • After the fasting day you should try to eat small portions, building your daily rations of vegetables, fruits, dairy products, meat and fish.
  • On fasting days you shouldn’t spend too much time in the gym. You should also sleep well during the fasting days, so spare at least 9-10 hours for sleeping.
  • Pregnant and breast-feeding women shouldn’t set fasting days. You can set a fasting day during menstruation, but only if you don’t feel very bad during those days. If you have chronic diseases, you should consult your doctor before fasting.
