First Aid Kit On Hand

First Aid Kit On HandYou can find yourself in an accident anywhere. That’s why it’s very important for everyone to have a first aid kit at home, in a car and at the workplace.

The kit should be put in a dry and cool place. It is advisable to have a properly organized kit.

It should be easy to carry, roomy, durable, waterproof and easy to open.

First of all, inside the home first aid kit put the phone numbers for the physician and first aid services such as emergency ambulance service. If the members of your family have allergies also write them down and put them into the kit.

Include the following items  into the kit well: first-aid manual, adhesive tape, first aid bandages, sterile gauze, antiseptic wipes, soap, antibiotic cream, elastic bandage, disposable instant cold packs, sharp scissors, safety pins,  calamine lotion, tongue depresser, alcohol wipes, thermometer, at least two pairs of plastic gloves, a blanket, flashlight and extra batteries.

If your children are old enough read the first-aid manual with them and try to understand how to use the items included in your kit. Show them how to apply bandages. When bandaging try to explain to the “injured” person what you are doing. Work from the wounded side and in front of the injured.

After some time check if the bandage is still tight and that it cannot easily loosen. Finally, make sure that the knots of the bandage don’t press into the skin.
