Keeping A ‘Face Diet’ :: By Emma
03/03/10
Any increase in weight changes the structure of the face. It becomes more rounded and acquires a heavy second chin. In order to prevent that it is necessary to maintain body weight within certain limits.
The more you eat the more calories you must burn. But how will you do that? The answer is simple — fitness or swimming. You can also try to walk for half an hour every day in fresh air, or you can at least stay at home and do your exercises, but do them intensively, without stopping. Don’t forget about proper breathing.
Also you should cut down on eating your favorite dessert, because as you know sugar causes face edema. But there are always ways to replace it. For example, eat yogurt instead of ice cream, and dried fruits instead of sweets and candies. These substitutes are very tasty and healthy for your face.
You should also reduce your salt intake to prevent face edema. And don’t try to replace it with soy sauce, as it nearly has the same effect. This means that you actually have to “say goodbye” to processed and canned products, as well as chips, smoked sausage and most snack foods.
Also, try to avoid high-fat products and use more diary products, like yogurts and milk. Use more veggies and fruits, which are rich in nutritional vitamins, and water.
When you drink a lot of water, your body receives the necessary amount of hydration, and excess moisture is removed from the body along with harmful substances like salts, carbohydrates and cholesterol. But when we consume little amounts of liquids, our body has to use the moisture that it has. And this may lead to swelling of your eyes, hands, feet, and, of course, your face. It becomes totally puffy. So, drink at least eight glasses of water every day.
If you cannot drink so much water daily, you can eat fruits (oranges, for example) to add the proper amount of fluids in your body.
Also you should use more calcium every day. For example, you can use the shell of an egg , as it contains a lot of calcium. You can mash the shell of a boiled egg in a mortar or a blender, and add one teaspoon of it to mashed potatoes. It’s very useful.
And remember, when you are free and preferably alone, exercise your face by making funny faces to keep it fit all the time.
