Parental Yoga Practices :: By Vergine
23/02/10
Keeping fit has a positive influence on pregnancy health care. It may shorten the process of labor and abate complications during childbirth.
Yoga is a simple and natural method of keeping fit during pregnancy. It helps a pregnant woman psychologically prepare for childbirth and motherhood. Pregnancy exercises help you breathe and relax, reduce stress and provide physical and emotional tranquility.
Yoga will encourage you with:
- Natural child birth: Yoga promotes the reproductive system and makes the muscles become more relaxed; this supports the natural way of childbirth. Natural childbirth is more difficult for a woman who is not flexible. You can make your body more flexible with the help of yoga practices.
- Minimal pain during child birth: The breathing exercises increase the tolerance for labor pain. “Bidalasana” is a cat pose which is essential for proper gyration and digestion. This pose helps to prepare for the pain of labor.
- Body knowledge: Regular practice trains you to focus on your body. “Yoga is a wonderful tool for becoming better acquainted with your body,” says Jyothi Larson, the author of “Yoga Mom.”
- Moral support: Yoga will physically and emotionally prepare you for pregnancy. Attending yoga classes is a good way to meet other moms-to-be and start this temporary journey together.
- Mood moderation: Yoga mainly emphasizes on breathing and moving concurrently which affects your breathing. The more mom is relaxed, the more baby is quiet.
- Posture perfection: Some basic yoga practices enhance shoulder and back strength, which improve posture.
You will feel the impact of yoga only if you attend the classes with full concentration. You can avoid exercises which seem to be difficult for you. One of the most vital conditions in practicing yoga is to follow a credible expert’s instructions.
Yoga also has post-delivery benefits. You can start yoga exercises six weeks after labor. Strengthening the pelvic floor and muscles will help you maintain a proper body shape after pregnancy.
If you are pregnant and intend to practice yoga, ask your doctor whether parental yoga is for you. It is extremely essential to have a full check-up before practicing yoga.
Before starting yoga classes make sure to take a blanket, comfortable clothes, blocks, a strap and a sticky mat.
Celebrate the joy of safe pregnancy. Good luck with the miracle of life growing within you!
