Pregnancy Exercises Are WelcomePregnancy is the most important and difficult period of each woman’s life. A pregnant woman must care for herself and for the developing baby at the same time. That’s why it’s important to have a healthy pregnancy.

There are a lot of things doctors advise pregnant women to do to stay healthy and fit. One of these things is exercising during pregnancy. This may sound a bit strange, because pregnancy is mostly associated with comfort, inactivity and laziness. However, doctors strongly advise exercising.

Pregnancy exercises are necessary. They help to have a good sleep, boost your mood, reduce pregnancy headaches, train the muscles and prevent you from gaining too much weight. However, a pregnant woman must consult a doctor before exercising, because not all sports are allowed. Besides, each woman should be examined individually to make sure that exercising will not harm her and the baby.

Several types of exercises are strongly recommended to pregnant women. Swimming, for instance, is considered the safest type of exercising, when there’s no danger of getting over-heated. It also decreases the pressure on your joints. Walking is also very good for your body, especially for your knees.

If you are a regular runner and do not want to give up your habit, you can turn to your doctor, and if there are no risks, you are welcome to go on with your sport. While running avoid getting over-heated and drink plenty of water to get well hydrated. You can also ride a bicycle if you want to, but be very careful not to fall. That is the only danger in biking. If you are fond of dancing, don’t give in to your favorite hobby. Just avoid jumping and spinning. It may harm the baby.

However, there are several kinds of sports that aren’t recommended for pregnant women at all. Skiing, water skiing and horse riding are not allowed. In general, all types of sports that may cause discomfort and shaking to the infant are forbidden.

While doing exercises always wear light clothes and suitable shoes not to feel any discomfort. It is also very important to constantly monitor your organism’s state to make sure you are not at risk. For example, your heart rate should not be more than 140 beats per minute. Blood pressure should also be closely watched, because when it reaches 90/140 mmHG, you should immediately turn to a doctor. If you feel bad, stop exercising immediately and have some rest.

Remember, pregnancy exercises are a must for you and your baby. A healthy pregnancy is important for safe delivery as well as the mother’s and baby’s health.
