Healthy Nails: Beautiful Hands

Healthy Nails: Beautiful HandsDo you suffer from fragile fingernails? If you do, then this post will provide you with some useful information about how to deal with this problem.

Every woman knows that only healthy nails can make beautiful hands. Unfortunately, today many people suffer from brittle and splitting nails. According to the statistics, 20 percent of people suffer from fragile fingernails, and most of them are women. Medics say that women develop weak nails more often than men.

Nail problems may grow into a terrible inferiority complex. Imagine how depressing it is when you want to apply nail polish when going out and see that your nails look so small and unattractive that there’s no sense in polishing them.

Is there anything you could do in this case? Your friends or relatives would perhaps advise you to use artificial nails. But is there a need to turn to artificial nails when you can cure your natural ones?

Medics say that in some sense each of us suffers from nail problems. Because of deficiency of Vitamin C, zinc, iron and calcium in the organism, your nails start to grow very slowly or peel and break.

If you want to have strong and healthy nails, you should eat products that contain much calcium (such as milk, butter, cheese and other diary products). It would also be good to eat more vegetables and fruits as they are rich in iron, Vitamin C and zinc.

If the calcium products don’t help to treat your calcium deficiency, you should perhaps try taking calcium tablets. Turn to your healthcare provider, and he/she will advise what tablets to take.

If you want to keep healthy nails, you should also consider the following:

  • Don’t bite your nails.
  • Don’t apply too much nail polish. It may look nice and beautiful, but if it’s too much it may cause skin discoloration.
  • Don’t work without gloves. When involved in household duties, use gloves so you won’t damage your nails. Remember that powders are number-one nail enemies.
